The City of Yorktown has given official notice to the owner that Yorktown Memorial Hospital is not authorized to conduct any commercial activities or use the property for any purpose unless and until the property is brought into compliance with City building codes including plumbing, electrical, fire prevention, structural, etc. The owner disputes whether the town's action is warranted because the property is useful as a movie set and venue for paranormal investigation "as is", and an engineer's report states that the building is safe for occupancy. The cost of bringing the property up to code is not affordable, since the property is used solely for the enjoyment of the owner and his personal guests and does not generate any financial profit.
